i've finally watched
The Shawshank Redemption. and by god, i really loved it. i think i fell in love with
Tim Robbins when watching it and finally understood why it's rated as one of the greatest film of all time.
touching, heartfelt, occasional good wit, heartbreaking, thrilling, excellent acting and a more than satisfactory ending.
it's number 2 on the imdb list and i feel that it definitely deserves it's placing. i really enjoyed Tim Robbins acting and now i can understand why he is such a renowned actor. i didn't think much when i saw
Mystic River, but now, he is probably going to be one of my all time favourite actors.
admittedly, looking at the story as a whole, you wouldn't think is that a fantastic plot. however, the tiny details of life in the prison brings reality straight up to your face. the cruelty of the warden showing how manipulative authoritative figures could be and people will conform to these figures as by law we should not disobey them (mates, social psychology). the twisted path we face in our lives and how sometimes when we have to forgo our inner shell just to face the outside world.
The Shawshank Redemption my friends, you have to watch it to understand it.
1 more down, 77 to go!
